2.5 - Growing Up
Darya is a show off when it comes to the water slide I put in for the kids. Honestly, I think the adults use it more than anyone.
The moodlet for failed tricks is super annoying, though. I'd forgotten about that.
I DID IT!! I actually completed the Social Butterfly child aspiration. I've never done this in my game because I just find it so daunting. I'm excited and proud of myself. Woohoo!
It's a bit strange that it encourages children to befriend random adults, though...
Darya wakes up even before the sun most days, so she gets to have chill breakfast chats with her dearly departed dad. It's cute, but I wish Rory would stop breaking everything during the night.
Kai becomes a teen and I'm shocked, he actually looks like a Darya clone. Now I feel bad for calling him a Nuihaur clone! Even so, I don't see a whole lot of diversity, past his eye and hair color. Genetics in this game baffle me.
He's got what is fast becoming the trademark Ocean honker, courtesy of his grandpa, Rory. It doesn't look awful, but it's something to behold if you catch a glimpse of his profile. It's quite something.
Kai wants to be a Chef and adds Art Lover to his traits.
He brings home Morgan one day from school and I'm tempted to allow him to have a little romance, but then, I'm not sure. I guess we'll see. They're just good friends for now. She's constantly coming over or inviting him to her house.
My poor teens need socialization outside of the family!
The remaining children, Maris and Tasi, spend a lot of time on the same schedule. I'm sure Maris misses Kai, as they were always close, but the age groups tend to keep much different schedules, so they don't see one another as often as they used to.
With Kai aging to teen, I had to roll for the heir and... it's Tasi. I'm not sure how I feel yet.
With all of her kids growing up and in school, Darya doesn't have much to do during the day once everyone is gone. She tends the garden a bit and I've had her pick up wellness. It's not like she needs to work. These guys have well over 300k. It's insane.
She's also an Adult now, though nothing's really changed.
Maris joins her older brother in the land of hormones and unexplained mood swings! She's definitely cute, but also another Darya clone. What? How did this happen? In fact, next to each other, Kai and Maris look like identical twins.
She's Active and I was kind of hoping she'd be heir, because I love Active sims and she has the Curator aspiration, which I've never done.
Oh well.
Maris and Kai are on the same schedules again! They celebrate by doing their homework in the same room. They did this autonomously. I miss sims being able to work on their homework together. Why did they get rid of that?
I forgot how hilariously bad it goes if you have a parent give a teenager the WooHoo talk. Needless to say, they both left the conversation feeling awkward and embarrassed. Too funny.
Tasi completes his assigned aspiration of Whiz Kid and I switch him over to Creative Prodigy or whatever it's called. His Aspiration is going to be Bestselling Author, as per the generator, and so he'll need that creative boost!
Maris spends the hot summer days in the kiddie pool. I can't even lie, this is one of my favorite, stupid things. It just cracks me up how they luxuriate in the tiny pool.
Kailani stops by to chat with her grandkids about how they'll be spending the rest of their lives suspended as eternal Young Adults and what a gift it is. Maris isn't convinced and Kai is pretty okay with it.
I have aging off because it causes way too many save and simulation issues. Especially when you're progressing ten plus generations.
Maris and Kai are super siblings. They love being together. It's super adorable. They are very close in age, so it makes sense. Poor Tasi is a little behind and I can't remember why. I tried to make sure they were all relatively close together. Oops.
Darya comes back from her jog shredded and the mail lady clearly approves. Hey, that mail lady is cute. I have Darya politely introduce herself should we need some spouse fodder for our heir...
Because Tasi is now a Teen! He is a Perfectionist who Loves Outdoors. And holy crap, he is cute! This is a bad photo, but he looks very much like Kailani. He has his dad's nose, though, which is fine with me. I was kind of upset he was the heir but not anymore.
He won the genetic lottery this round. Good thing he'll be Family Oriented as a Young Adult, because he's definitely popping out kids!
I really need to address the living room situation. It's small, there's not enough seating, and most of the time, they just stand around instead of sitting down. I've been trying to keep the house under control as far as amenities go, but this needs kicked up a notch. I'll get to it...
