Darya takes time out from her garden salad to give her mum a comforting hug. I realize that while I gave Kailani an Elder makeover, I forgot to change her outfit for warm weather. Oops.
Kailani also got a mourning moodlet I don't remember seeing previously--Widow. It's from losing a soulmate. Aw, that's cute.
Her father's death spurs Darya into action. She proposes to Nuihaur and they immediately elope, too, because who has time for any of that wedding business?
Looking back on these screens, I notice that Darya is in her workout outfit almost constantly. She works out a lot.
Of course, first comes marriage, then comes the baby carriage... or however that rhyme goes. Needless to say, Darya is pregnant and flirty. It's hilarious.
She also doesn't seem to mind this first pregnancy at all.
Rory makes an appearance as a ghost. I really, really hate that all TS4 ghosts seem to do is break stuff. Seriously. They float around and break everything. Why? I could understand if they were angry... but he was a pretty satisfied guy in life.
At least he takes time out of his busy schedule of wrecking stuff to have a chat with Kailani about her eventual demise. It's been several days and I finally got the notice. So, she's close.
When she keels over the next night, I'm bummed. Darya is set to give birth at any moment! She's going to miss it.
I try to have Darya plead, but Grim must remember when Kailani had to bring Rory back and isn't having any of it.
R.I.P. Kailani. You were awesome and your original sim still lives on in my gallery and my other save. Enjoy the afterlife!
I'm tempted to put things they've completed masterfully/etc down there to commemorate them, but I'm not sure yet.
Kai is born only hours after his grandmother's death. I picked the name from my theme list in honor of Kailani. It only seemed appropriate!
I'm kinda bummed. I really want multiples without using the trait. I never seem to get them naturally in any of my games!
Since Kailani is gone, I had to hire a gardener. Darya still has to sell everything, which will eventually raise her skill, but for now... hired help.
Darya doesn't have a job and doesn't need one. Their bills are 5-6k and they have almost 200,000 in the bank. It's obnoxious! I don't think I've ever had sims this rich this early on in a legacy.
Since she's not inundated with kids yet, she spends a lot time jogging and working on random skills. Darya's aspiration will have her hyper-focused on her kids, so she might as well enjoy this time while she can. I'm thinking three kids this generation...
It took several tries for her to get pregnant with Kai, but this time, all it takes is one! Darya runs off to tell Nuihaur the good news. His face belies his joy. He pulls some really funny expressions.
I also have zero clue why the outdoor lights suddenly don't work...
Kai becomes a toddler and the frenzy for Darya's 'Successful Lineage' milestone starts! He gets a lot of quality time.
I'm kinda bummed because, so far, he seems like a total Nuihaur clone. He's a Charmer, so he loves chasing down his Loner dad and making him interact with him.
I don't typically mess with too much of the parent-directed toddler learning techniques. They seem to take a really long time with little reward, but I feel like Darya would be the type. It's a good thing Kai isn't Independent, or he'd be really mad.
These two are cute. For being slapped together fairly quickly, they autonomously engage in a lot of cute, romantic stuff. I did this just because I don't think I've used this social interaction since the base game. It's cute.
Welcome to the family, Maris! It looks like the alien skintone won't make it past Darya's generation. That's kind of a bummer, though most of the hair looks a little crazy on the green skin. So, maybe it's a blessing in disguise.
They're definitely having another kid after this!
