5.3 - You're a Parent, Glaucus Ocean!

Glaucus continues to be an excellent parent, despite his subpar wizarding. Which is fine with me! I always love it when sims autonomously interact with their kids.

The toddler pool is finally getting some use, too.

This prompts me to finally build the family actual pool. I've wanted one forever, but hate it when sims are too rich, too fast. Which is a bridge we crossed awhile ago, given that these guys have two million in the bank...

Sedna is the first to break it all in. It's the perfect spot for a nap.

Becca gives birth to the second and final child, Morgan! It shouldn't take a history degree to see where the name came from. Not to be confused with Morgyn, the sage from the Magical Realm.

I'm bummed I won't see as much genetic diversity this generation, but I need a break from kids.

Becca is a pretty okay parent. She's usually too busy skilling. When given the option, though, she seeks out Merlin quite a lot.

Ianthe: 'Does your wife realize that's not how you hold a toddler?'

Glaucus: 'Maybe? Maybe not. Hard to say.'

Ianthe: 'And you're... not worried?'

Glaucus: 'I can just magic him if he falls.'

Ianthe: 'I'm suddenly more concerned about that than the falling...'

Morgan becomes an adorable toddler who looks a lot like her older brother. Both have brown eyes and light brown hair. Morgan's complexion is a little deeper than her brother's, however, and their faces look just a little different.

Should be fun to see what they look like as teens!

Sedna ages gracefully into an elder. I really like giving sims an elder makeover. Previously, I'd just let them wear whatever, but this makes me feel a little more connected to their aging process.

I have a weird issue feeling anything for my TS4 sims. It's a work in progress, I guess?

Unfortunately, she won't get to enjoy her aged years with her husband. It appears he's checking out.

Raul: 'Hmm... hey, I'm not feeling so good. Might just take a rest here.'

Aww, Raul! You just got home from work, too.

Raul is interred in the mausoleum. He joins his first wife, Mira, who is in a different section temporarily. Things will get strange when they're all dead, won't it? The game still recognized Mira as Raul's spouse, despite him marrying Sedna.

Glaucus: 'I was really broken up about dad dying, but this potion hits the spot.'

Okay, I may need to make a million of these. It removes all bad moodlets and I just cannot with the endless mourning the death of a family member brings. I'm cold, I'm heartless, and I'm totally making more of these.

Gardener: 'That's cold, man.'

Shush!

Glaucus really favors Morgan. Like, a lot. He is constantly autonomously interacting with her. I think he knows she's a spellcaster. I found that out when I saw her mood bar had the spellbook icon. Sigh!

Sedna favors both the grandkids equally. At least someone around here is impartial! Even Becca has a favorite--Merlin.

Speaking of Merlin, he's a child now. I may have forgotten his birthday, which caused him to be the saddest child to ever swim sadly around a pool. Sorry, dude. It was an honest mistake.

Merlin: 'Sigh. So ignored. So forgotten...'

Oh, hush. He and his sister rolled identical traits, just in a slightly different order. He starts off as a Bookworm.

Sedna is not at all pleased by the general lack of concern for playing favorites in this house.

Sedna: 'You forgot your son's birthday! How could you?'

Glaucus: 'Why are you blaming me?! It was her fault!'

...yeah, my bad. Oops.

Sedna: 'I'm disappointed in both of you.'

That hurts, Sedna.

Not as much as this ridiculous idiot and his floating spoons, granted. He's finally finished the Spellcasting aspiration and now is tackling the potion one. We've got most of the things finished, except the make x number of potions, so it's going to be a breeze.

Morgan is unamused by her mother's attempt to avoid her grandmother's ire by interacting with her. I think this is why Becca favors Merlin. Morgan is always giving her looks and defying her whenever she tries to make her do something.

It's hilarious.

Even Glaucus' attempts at teaching her are met with incredulity. She's having none of this, you guys.

Glaucus: 'I'm trying to teach her spellcaster things!'

Shockingly, she doesn't trust your knowledge. Go figure. Maybe she wants to not burn everything she touches.

Glaucus: 'Ouch. That hurts.'

The Ocean tradition of hanging out and chatting in bedrooms continues! Inappropriately, even, as poor Morgan is trying to sleep.

Merlin brings home a school project we haven't completed yet, so I let him and Becca work on it. I'm trying to get an excellent version of each one... just because.

Raul, you're back! Good to see you and you look so happy, too.

Raul: 'Being dead isn't that bad, actually.'

Glad to hear it!

Glaucus: 'Mom, dad's ghost is floating around.'

Sedna: 'You make spoons float, spontaneously combust our commodes, insist on appearing everywhere in a shower of sparkles... and you're concerned about a ghost?'

Glaucus: 'But it's dad!'

Wimp.
