5.6 - The Undying Matriarch

Mira is here to check in on Sedna and the fact that she's still alive. At this point, she's a marvel of The Sims 4 fortitude. This old girl just won't quit!

I'm gonna be sad when she's gone.

Morgan, meanwhile, likes harassing her mother while she's trying to work out.

Morgan: 'Man, mom, you really like to go hard, huh? *chomp, munch*'

Becca: 'What the- is that?'

Morgan: 'What? I just thought I'd come see what you're doing.'

Becca: 'I told you not to say anything.'

Hey, I didn't reveal your food sneak-ery. I think she figured it out on her own.

Mira is around  a lot these days and she stays far longer than a ghost should.

Mira: 'We all have to go sometime.'

Sedna: 'I know, but I just don't feel completely ready yet.'

Mira: 'It's not as bad as it seems. Really.'

This, coming from someone who died prematurely, clearly means a lot.

Meanwhile, Merlin comes home feeling extremely moody. What's your problem now?

Merlin: 'UGH! Everything sucks. Just, like, everything.'

Well, yeah. Welcome to life, buddy. It only gets worse once you're an adult. But hey, at least you'll never get old, yeah?

Merlin: 'Ugh!!'

Teenagers. Why don't you go wash yourself off? You stink.

Sedna: 'Just because you managed to squeeze yourself into that chef's coat somehow and get a normal job doesn't mean you're suddenly respectable and capable of taking over, you know.'

Glaucus: 'Come on, mom! What's it going to take? I'm the heir!'

Sedna: 'I'll believe it when you act like it.'

Sheesh. It's clear why Sedna's sticking around. She still doesn't trust her son!

She definitely misses Raul, though. He doesn't haunt much and so they don't have as much time to catch up. I feel bad. Poor Sedna's work here is done. As much as I'd love for her to stick around forever, I know it's time.

Now if only she and the game would figure it out...

Meanwhile, she manages to get this. See! She's a bastion of everything. Her work here is well and truly done.

Besides, she spends most of her time chilling out in the pool and getting sweet tans. At least she's able to enjoy what are probably her final days. It's hard to say... she could live forever.

Sedna: 'I'm not sure I want to.'

Can't blame you there, either. This legacy is a mess.

Summer is in full swing at the Ocean residence. It's nice to see everyone soaking up the sun. Morgan looks like a failed oompa loompa, though. What kind of tan is that, exactly?

Morgan: 'I may have... gotten a little burnt.'

No, really? I couldn't tell.

Everyone congregates around the pool to celebrate Remembrance Day. I really love the pool. I wish it was usable more than one season out of the entire four. Whatever happened to pool warmers, Maxis?

Morgan was out scouting for possible dudes when she got this text from her own father.

I dismissed it because she was busy. It would have been interesting to see who would have won, though. Morgan is still only level two but Glaucus has lost to lower ranks before.

Sedna helps vet the possible spouses. This guy is probably the winner, Tomax Collette. Of course, I just looked him up and realized... he's also a spellcaster. Much like Loves Outdoors, I'm apparently doomed to deal with this for the rest of the legacy.

Sedna: 'More of this magic crap? Ugh.'

I didn't know before I picked him! The pickings are slim around here. I thought he was a townie!

Tomax: 'I can hear you both, you know. You realize Morgan is a teenager and that's gross... right?'

Shhh, you hear nothing.

Meanwhile, Morgan laments that her grandmother is never going to die and give her a proper bed. So dramatic. And with her right there, in the room with you.

Morgan: 'I'm tired of the twin bed! I'm ready to blossom into a young woman.'

Sedna: 'Go blossom somewhere else. I'm trying to take a nap.'

Morgan: 'Argh, grandma! You're ruining my life!!

Teenagers are one thing, but teenagers with the flair for the dramatic? Uuugh.

Oh, I see you found it.

Glaucus: 'I knew that, deep down, you liked me all along.'

I don't know what you're talking about.

Glaucus: 'Sure you do. This is a youth potion. For me.'

Maybe I'm just seriously doubting Morgan's ability to handle this on her own.

Glaucus: '...you're probably right to worry. Let me hurry up and drink this.'

Good idea.

Moody Merlin becomes a slightly less moody Young Adult. He adds Loves Outdoors to Active and Bookworm. Such a puzzling combination.

He definitely has some of Becca's features, but Glaucus' influence is clear as day.

Merlin: 'Does this mean I get to leave now?'

Not quite yet.

This idiot goes out jogging in a thunderstorm. Are you trying to die?

Glaucus: 'It's invigorating!'

Don't you remember what happened to the maid?

Glaucus: 'He survived.'

Barely!

Glaucus tries to tempt Merlin away from the weight bench with cake. Lately, Merlin has taken up the mantle of constantly using the damned thing autonomously and Glaucus seems quite peeved about it.

Glaucus: 'I'm losing mass here!'

You could stand to lose some. You look ridiculous.

Morgan has recently been allowed into Glaucus' study. She hones in on the cauldron and tries her hand at some potion-making... with mixed results.

Morgan: 'Dad said to just add stuff and see what happens.'

Don't do that. Your dad is an idiot.

Morgan: 'NOW you tell me? Ugh! I have to start over.'

The ghosts are circling. Now I'm concerned.

Sedna: 'Why? There's always ghosts in this house.'

I don't know, Sedna. They seem awful keen on you all of the sudden.

Sedna: 'Meh.'

Just after breakfast, the music sounds and I hear Sedna call out. It's time.

Sedna: 'I see something sparkly! Wait... does that mean?'

Yeah, it's time.

Sedna: 'I'm ready.'

Me too... I think.

What are you doing, Grim? You look confused.

Death: 'Just making sure she's not a zombie. She's way overdue.'

Sedna was a force.

Death: 'And now she's dead.'

Don't you have some other people you need to collect?

And so, Sedna is laid to rest next to her husband. I'll definitely miss her. Her generation was crazy! I don't think I've ever actually had a spare take over for an heir in any of my games.

R.I.P. Sedna, you were awesome.

Even if you did stick me with Glaucus...
